The Federation of International Football Association has appointed its General Secretary Fatima Samura to run the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) as its high commissioner .Fatima Samurai will liaise between the FIFA president, and the CAF president, whiles supervising the day-to-day administration of the African Football body.
Her main job will be to segregate CAF’s financial files, which has come under serious scrutiny after the dismissal of Amr Fahmy as the general secretary.
Fatima’s duties will revolve around overseeing “operational management of CAF, including governance and administrative procedure , to ensure the efficient and professional organisations of all CAF competitions & to support the growth and development of football in all countries and regions of CAF.”
Fatima Samura has a six month’s mandate which will start from August 2019, to January 2020.
She will periodically report to the Bureau of the FIFA council on her activities, and the way forward.
Meanwhile the European Football Association (UEFA) have expressed their displeasure for the appointments of Fatima Samurai citing conflicts of interest.
